Robotic surgery typically offers numerous benefits over open surgery, including:
- Less scarring
- Less blood loss
- Less pain
- Shorter hospital stay
Ocala Health is proud to offer minimally invasive surgical treatments, including robotic surgery. This page is designed to inform you about the robotic surgeries available and our robotic team. Robotic surgery is not appropriate for all patients. Speak to one of our surgeons to find out if you are a candidate.

What is Robotic Surgery?
The robotic technology provides the surgeon high-definition, three-dimensional vision with a magnified view to perform complex and delicate procedures through small incisions. The surgeon controls the state-of-the-art robotic surgical system at a console next to the patient.
How It Works
- The surgeon controls the instruments while looking through a high-quality monitor in a console next to the patient
- The “wristed” robotic instruments have more range of motion than a human wrist, enabling the surgeon to guide hard to reach positions
- The robotic computer software makes the surgeon’s movements even more steady, for greater precision
