Ocala Health orthopaedic surgery program
The Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Central Florida/HCA Healthcare GME, is thrilled that you are taking the time to visit our website and to get to know us a little better. To all prospective applicants, I appreciate that you are taking the time to learn about our residency program. We believe that we offer a full range of orthopaedic training, as well as research and advocacy opportunities.
At UCF/HCA GME, we will expose our residents to a variety of clinical settings, from a pediatric specialty hospital to an immersive orthopaedic oncology rotation, to the outpatient surgical center setting, to the inpatient orthopaedic service at our primary hospitals, Ocala Regional Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center) and West Marion Community Hospital. Residents will train in a variety of private practice, group practice, and institutional models of physician organizations.
Residents are encouraged to research, and support is provided for all of our residents to conduct clinical and basic science research. Institutional support is available to help formulate questions, to scan the literature, to test hypotheses, to analyze data, and to publish manuscripts and to prepare presentations. Residents will compete at state-level resident competitions, as well as enter into national conference scholarship awards.
At the end of the day though, residents will work together to shape the newest, and soon to be one of the best, orthopaedic surgery residency programs in the nation. I pledge to oversee a residency of dedicated trainees who seek to be ethical, moral, compassionate, and inquisitive. Together we will build something amazing. I hope you are interested in giving UCF/HCA GME a more in-depth look. I invite you to continue to get to know us further.
